Council Meetings

The council shall hold regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the council chambers at the town hall, unless otherwise decided by resolution. The council may not hold regular meetings in July, August and December, if these are not necessary. The mayor chairs the council meetings. Councillors must be present at a meeting to vote. The mayor will vote only when voting is tied. If an extraordinary meeting has to be called or a meeting has to be canceled, it will be announced on the website home page as well as through the municipality’s other means of communication.

The Committee of the Whole meets as needed in the council chamber at the town hall or at another location designated by the council at 6:30 PM. The Committee of the Whole is responsible for reviewing any matters related to the operation of the municipality. It allows the council to familiarize itself with agenda items before making a decision at a regular or special meeting. No resolutions will be voted on during this meeting, and no decision made by this committee is valid or enforceable until the municipal council has addressed the matter in a regular or special meeting. The minutes of the Committee of the Whole will not be published, as no decisions will be voted on.

Citizens are invited to attend meetings held in the council chamber at the municipal office, located at 4556 Principale Street, suite 300. An open question and answer period is scheduled at the end of each meeting.
