A volunteer fire brigade composed of thirty dedicated members serves the regions of Saint-Antoine, Notre-Dame, Sainte-Marie and surrounding communities (McKees Mills, Saint-Grégoire, Saint-Damien, etc.) in addition to providing support to the communities of Bouctouche, Cocagne and Saint-Paul. The fire department is the first responder for emergency situations such as a fire, traffic accident or a medical call on the territory. Firefighters respond to an average of 100 emergency calls per year.

Members of the fire department meet every Monday night, except the summer, for training and practice so they can be prepared for emergencies. In addition, firefighters attend training and programs on weekends and evenings, if necessary. They also organize fundraisers or other activities such as the open house in the fall and visit the schools with the objective of keeping people safe and preventing fires. They also support the annual activities of the Saint-Antoine Fall Colors Festival such as the Yvon LeBlanc Run, the Big Bike, etc.

The Saint-Antoine Fire Department is well equipped. The brigade has two pumper trucks of 1000 gallons each, a 2000 gallon tanker truck, a response truck, a trailer, an ATV, a rescue sled, a low angle kit, one set of jaws of life, a defibrillator, four wet suits and a TIC camera.
