The birthplace of Louis J. Robichaud is designated as a local historic place with regards to the place where, on October 21st, 1925, was born Louis J. Robichaud, 24th Premier of New Brunswick. Louis J. Robichaud was the first Acadian to become Premier and was in office from 1960 to 1970. In 1972, he became senator, a position he held until 2000. He studied at the Sacred Heart University in Bathurst and was admitted to the New Brunswick branch of the Canadian Bar Association in 1958, before launching a career in politics. As Premier, he forever marked provincial politics with the "Equal Opportunity Program" and the "Official Languages Act".
In 1925, at the time Louis J. Robichaud was born, the site of 4 Camille Street also included the civic address of 4532 Principale Street in Saint-Antoine.
