The parish received a donation of two white marble statues: Immaculate Conception and Saint Bernadette from Italy, donation from a former parishioner Mr. Albert Goguen, son of Xavier Goguen for the construction of a shrine behind the church. In 1954, the work began and several men contributed including the priest at the time, Reverend Camille Vautour. A 10-foot deep hole was dug and was filled with cement. The work was finished on time for an outdoor mass on July 17, 1955.
