The official opening of the Fernand-Léger Centre was held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in the presence of the Honourable Glen Savoie, Minister of Local Government and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, the Honourable Réjean Savoie, Minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, Benoit Bourque, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Kent South, Mayor Jean-Pierre Richard, the municipal council of Champdoré, representatives of the nearby municipalities, the family of the late Fernand Léger, and many volunteers.

At a special meeting held on December 5, the municipal council of the Town of Champdoré adopted the public safety plan ‘’Our Safety First“. Under the direction of the Public Safety Committee, the plan consists of four initiatives to increase safety in the town: awareness and direct support, Alliance Champdoré, intervention and collaboration, and advocacy.

The municipal council of Champdoré unanimously adopted the strategic plan for the next five years at its regular meeting on November 21, 2023. Last January, a resolution had passed to begin the process of developing a tool to guide the newly founded municipality following the local governance reform.

The Fernand-Léger Skating Rink is now open for the 2024 season.

(November 20, 2023) - At its special meeting on Tuesday November 14, 2023, the municipal council of the Town of Champdoré unanimously adopted its 2024 general operating budget of $5,140,056.

 The Municipality of Champdoré intends to adopt a By-Law to amend By-Law no. 2020-04 entitled « Plan rural du village de Saint-Antoine » (rural plan). Written objections to the by-law project will be considered during a public hearing that will be held at the Municipal Office on November 21, 2023 at 6: 30 pm.
 

A new button-activated blinking crosswalk sign was installed on Principale Street at the intersection of Renaud Road in Saint-Antoine. People crossing the road can now push a button to turn on flashing lights and alert drivers. This signage was installed to increase awareness and compliance with the crosswalk and to ensure the safety of the pedestrian crossing at that intersection.‍

The Town of Champdoré is looking for a Director of Administrative Services. 

 (Champdoré, N.-B., May 3, 2023) – At the special meeting of January 9, 2023, the municipal council of the Town of Champdoré unanimously adopted a strategic planning process. Following a request for proposal process, JGV Consultants Inc. was selected to assist the new municipality.

They provide grants to help cover the costs of registration fees so that all kids aged 18 and under in Kent County can play a season of sport.
 
Their chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $400 per child/year, for kids who live in Kent County, or in one of the other communities they serve. If you live outside of Kent County please contact the Provincial Office to find your nearest chapter, or to get support through the Provincial Fund.
